Indigenous-Led, Land-Based Learning
Wînipêk Wildlings
Ta-tawâw, there is room for you!
Join our Indigenous-led land-based learning collective. We welcome families of all ages, genders, and abilities. Our program is based in and around Winnipeg, MB and is facilitated by two-spirit Nêhiyaw and Red River Métis Knowledge Keeper, Britt Ross.
Decolonizing and Indigenizing learning means stepping back and letting children have the freedom to play, explore and learn from the land with minimal adult interference. Our goal is to bring out useful tools and materials, provide safety instructions and supervision to give children the keys to success and autonomy over their own time and connection with nature. Our sessions mostly take place outdoors in various parks in Winnipeg and surrounding area. The majority of the sessions are provided at no cost to families. Traditional teachings are given based on the interests of the participants. You do not need to be Indigenous to participate, just be respectful.
